Who and what is Free For All Community Recycling Ltd all about?

Free For All Community Recycling Ltd is a registered charity (No. 1101755) and company limited by guarantee (No. 4967831).

Free For All operates on a not for profit basis and survives on a combination of membership fees and donations from our members and project specific grant and award funding from the public and private sector. We are a proactive, adaptable and flexible volunteer led organisation.

The objectives of the Charity are:

The advancement of education of the public in matters relating to conservation and sustainability. (Sustainability means as defined by the Brundtland Commission's definitions, which is "Sustainable develpment is that which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." )

The advancement of education in respect of the environment aspects and need for recycling in the community.

One of our other original objectives was to acquire land and property for and to create a Dorsetp Green on land at Longthwaite Road, Wigton, Cumbria under the auspices of the Countryside Agency's Doorstep Green Initiative. We have succeeded in doing so and Wigton now has an area of open space for the benefit and use without charge of inhabitatns of and visitors to the locality for informal recreation, play, other leisure time pursuits and community events, and any other lawful purpose of benefit to such inhabitants.
